Since 2021, I have served as a deputy editor of Sociology Theory Forum (社会学理论志), a Chinese-language public scholarship platform on WeChat with approximately 60,000 followers.
Editorial Work
I curate, introduce, translate, and edit Anglophone sociological scholarship for Chinese readers and review other contributors’ selections and translations. Drawing on my familiarity with both Chinese-language sociology and Anglophone sociology and China studies, I select works that can add to conversations in Chinese academia, including comparative and historical studies of nationalism and modernity and postcolonial and transnational perspectives that complicate nation-centered understandings of China, East Asia, and the wider world.
Intellectual Community
Beyond this editorial work, I have contributed to developing the group as an intellectual community, including leading reading-group discussions, serving as a discussant for members’ research, and advising peers on their research and academic life.
